It's the first glimpse your guests have into the experience you’re creating for your wedding, and when you are working with me its art. But if you’ve never commissioned custom designs before, pricing can feel mysterious. Why do some invitation suites cost a few hundred dollars, while others reach up and over ten thousand?
At Muffcake Manor our minimum spend is $2500, most of our couples invest $5,000–$8,000 on their stationery suite, and there are good reason why. This guide walks you through what influences the cost, what you receive for that investment, and how to plan your budget confidently.
What Makes Invitations “Luxury”?
“Luxury” in wedding stationery comes down to four things: design, quantity, materials, and craftsmanship.
Design: You’re not choosing from a template when you work with me. You’re commissioning original concepts, artwork, custom layouts, with everything unique to your love story and your event. We meet to align on unique concepts and color options, and go through several sketch rounds to achieve something one of a kind for you. Then each element is hand painted for a one of a kind suite. This is what makes us here at Muffcake Manor different from everyone else out there.
Quantity: Are you sending 20 invites to your intimate affair, or 300+ for a big family wedding? Do you need 1 invite and 1 RSVP card with a QR code? Or are you having a whole wedding weekend with lots of events and the need for many detailed cards? The total number of items needed is usually the biggest influence for the price.
Materials: Think 100% cotton thick luxurious paper, foil details, and gorgeous silk ribbons or lace finishes.
Craftsmanship: Printing methods like foil stamping or embossing require specialty equipment, expertise, and meticulous skill.
Every detail including the ink, envelope texture, and most importantly design, reflects a level of artistry that can’t be mass-produced.
